Our twin baby girls, Emma and Elyse, recently celebrated their heavenly birthday (I miscarried at the end of March 2022-read that story here). I am so thankful for the brief time that I got to carry them, even though it has not been an easy journey. In honor of their memory, Phil and I would love to invite you to join us in remembering them, by helping us to provide for other children in need, by helping to take of the needs on: COBYS WISH LIST. COBYS Family Services is a Christian organization that provides foster care, adoption, counseling, family life education and permanency services for children and families in our local county. COBYS is designed to fill in the gaps and go the extra mile for the children that receive their services.
This list contains items (clothing, socks, towels, hairbrushes, body wash, backpacks, etc.) that COBYS desires to provide to children under the care of their resource families. We would love to help cover many of the needs on that list! Many of you know that Phil and I have had a heart for foster care and adoption for a while now and we recently started that process to get more involved. James 1:27 is verse that Phil and I often return to; it says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” There are many different ways that God may call us to care for the widows and the orphans in our world and helping to equip Christian organizations that are caring for foster children is a simple and extremely helpful way. If you would like to give, but prefer to give monetarily to COBYS, here is the direct link: COBYS Support.
It is natural to miss our precious babies and sometimes wonder what our lives would be like if we had carried them full term. But I am reminded that they are whole and complete in heaven with Jesus, (& what a reunion it will be for some many of us who have lost children and other loved ones) and thinking of them also reminds me of all the little children here and now that our family can be a blessing to. Thank you for helping us to honor their memories in such a sweet and tangible way!
Phil and Lauren, you are allowing God to use your situation, which heals your broken heart. God is Amazing and He will turn your pain into something extraordinary. This is a great way to remember your Heavenly children.
Yes, He is. We can both look back and see how He has provided and worked in our lives, just as he is now. It will be incredible to look back in a few years and see how he worked through everything happening now!
