About Me

Hello and welcome to Each Little Moment! I’m Lauren and I am so glad to have you here. I have been through a crazy journey over the last few years of discovering who I am as a person and who I am in Christ. It hasn’t been easy and we shouldn’t have to do it alone…I am on a lifelong journey of glorifying God and cultivate the life that He has called me to!

My favorite titles are follower of Jesus, wife, and Mama. I have been married to my best friend, Philip for almost 4 years and we have a goofy, beautiful 2 year old, Isabel. My husband has just started as an ICU nurse after completing an accelerated nursing program and I care for my daughter and nephew and do some work at home for a homeschool curriculum company.

Some of my favorites are traveling, cooking, trying new foods, playing and activities with my daughter, and reading. I also have loved writing for years and have blogged on and off. Recently God has really put some things on my heart (well not that recently, but in our crazy season it has taken a little while to get this off the ground and running).  I write because I enjoy it, but Each Little Moment is not just about sharing our fun and messy lives, but also to purposefully share what the Lord is teaching me, as we are all bombarded by the opinions and lies from the world.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve wanted to be a wife and a mama and WOW is it even better than I ever imagined. But it definitely has its challenges. As moms (and parents) we are constantly bombarded with a number of things. The two main categories that come to mind are voices and competition. There are many voices telling us what success looks like, what parenting should look like, and what we should look like. There are also many things competing for our time and focus on our families (whether it is careers, hobbies, the internet, housework…etc.) And our individualistic, whatever makes me happy, increasingly secular society does not care about marriage, parenting, and families.  But God does.

Over and over in the Bible you can see the value that God puts on marriage, family, and training up our children. And I truly believe with Him as our guide, we don’t need to live mediocre, half-focused lives that are split in a million different directions. What we are doing as parents is not second-rate or unimportant, but rather the MOST important work because it is what God has CALLED us to in this season in life.

Whether you work outside the home, from home, or are a stay-at-home Mama, no moment lived for God (even the diaper changing, laundry folding, wiping noses moments) is unvalued. I am on this journey myself and have a long way to go-but I invite you to take a peek into our family, see what the Lord is teaching us, and hopefully receive some helpful ideas and encouragement along the way.  Embrace motherhood (parenthood) to its fullest, by grounding yourself in biblical truth, and purposefully living for EACH LITTLE MOMENT!

Love,

Lauren
